Our History

The UCD Coombe Family Practice is a GP surgery located in the Rialto Primary Care Centre in Dublin 8. We are a University College Dublin (UCD) GP Practice that has served the South Inner City Dublin Community for more than 30 years.

The Practice was founded by the retired UCD Emeritus Prof. of General Practice, Dr Gerry Bury.  He was committed to improving the health of his disadvantaged local Community.  To make are real difference on the ground, he set up a UCD GP Clinic in Dublin 8 to serve the Community, while supporting student Medical Education.

'We are known as the "Coombe" as our clinic used to be based in the Coombe Hospital in the historical Coombe district in Dublin 8, before we moved to the Rialto Primary Care Centre in 2020.
